Character Information
Name: Guglielmo Stilinski, aka Stiles
Age & Date of Birth: as of 3/18, he is 20. Birth Date is April 8, 2369.
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Canon: Teen Wolf
Powers & Skills: Stiles has inherited a love of learning and intelligence from his father, and magic from his mother. He has a healthy thirst for knowledge and can retain most if not all that he learns. Currently, Stiles can talk to canines and read in almost any language known to man. He has the ability to learn more magic, but would need a teacher to show him how to do it. He also doesn't know his cost yet for doing greater magic.
Position & Occupation: Only son of the elder Stilinski, previous head of the guards of Acquetico. He's currently been sent off to Imperia City to study with the scholars there, and living with and helping care for his grandmother Faggini in return for his room and board.
Home Location: Acquetico
Appearance: Stiles is a gangly young man who has a mess of brown hair that never seems to want to be tamed. He is actually stronger than he looks, and he can use that to his advantage when he absolutely has to - his father did teach him to fight when he was little. Brown eyes and a crooked smile completely the awkward young man.

Family: The Stilinski family had come to Acquetico with a group of nomads after the end of the war, trying to escape from Germany for the "safer" lands in what was one Italia. Their ancestors found some land in what would become the town. As generations passed, the family evolved from simple farmers to helping form the ideas to protect the city from others who would bring them harm. This would continue for generations to the current elder, John, who while learning to fight in the Imperia City, fell in love with a young woman named Claudia Faggini, and married her and brought her back to Acquetico so that they could raise a family.
Claudia was not a normal woman, though. She was one from a line of magic users who had a very interesting strain of magic. It would allow her to have visions of the near future when channeling an object, to be able to understand most written languages - even ones that she had never seen before - and have the ability to talk to canines. At least that was what she learned she could do before her family told her that the more she tried to learn, the more that the magic would eat away at her brain. All magic has a price, after all.
When she met John, she had sworn off magic to be able to have a family. She left the city to resist the temptation, feeling that the simple life would make it easier on her, and then Stiles was born and for awhile she was happy.
It was when Stiles was two that she realized he had inherited her magic ability when he was having a wonderful conversation with a stray dog while she was at the market. It was soon after that Claudia got a vision of a woman with dark hair who would come to corrupt her son and turn him and his magic to evil. She became obsessed with trying to protect her son from this fate, and used magic to ward the town, their home, and Stiles himself from this fate. She never told her husband, nor Stiles this, but she wrote a letter to her son about the vision that is hidden in a trunk in the family home with the rest of her belongings.
Her use of magic soon sent her into madness, and when Stiles was eight, she passed away. Her loss brought a strain between father and son, and Stiles believes to this day that he is the reason his mother died. John became a stricter father out of fear that his son may be susceptible to the "disease" that the town's doctors were never able to cure.
Bio: Stiles wasn't the strongest kid growing up, but he was the smartest in spades which made him a bit of an outcast as a child. His best friend was a dog named Scotty that he would often explore the woods with. His story was the same as most children - wild imagination, eager to learn, loved by his parents and a tendency to get into trouble. He was the kid who always asked questions, wanting to know how everything in the world worked. Claudia would affectionately joke that he got his curiosity from both of his parents, but it reminded her of John when he had lived in the city and how he looked at a new world.
As he grew up, he started to get the sense that he was different. The other kids were happy finding their place in the town and how their parents lived and fell into their footsteps. It started to create some friction with his father that Stiles never really was interested in learning to become a soldier, and would rather sit with a book by the hearth. He did prove his worth, however, after a nomadic group tried to attack one of the farms and he was able to help the village: it was a rainy day and Stiles took the chicken feed and dropped it on the incoming warriors from the safety of the tree limb above, and then his friend release all the chickens from their coop who hadn't eaten that day. The warriors retreated on fear of being pecked to death, and it allowed the town soldiers to repair the wall and defend against the next attack.
Since it was determined that physically he won't be able to take a place as a town guard like his father's family before, but so he is sent to the city to learn from the scholars about ways he can help advance Acquetico to improve their lives to that they are stronger, more secure, and not at risk of losing everything they have with one bad harvest. His mother's family, the Fagginis, welcomed him with open arms and have helped foster the young man's curiosity.
He has lived in Imperia city for a few years now but travels back home when the weather is good for the trip. When he's home, he tends to ramble on about the things he's learned in the city, and has tried to help them figure out different ways of farming and how to set up fences that will keep the damn goats where the herders want them to be. He knows his father is proud of him, but because of the hard time they had after Claudia's death, Stiles feels he needs to do more, and is always pushing to try and find ways to make his father proud - which usually ends up frustrating his father to no end.
In the city, however, he's the curious one who is getting into everything, and his wild imagination has him making up stories that paints his life as a much more colorful picture than it really is. What's a few small lies if it gets him a new friend, or that book he's been wanting to read. And no one's proved yet that he is developing some bad habits, but when he's determined, things like locks or acquiring the gunpowder from a soldier looking the other way don't matter, right?
The Fagginis know Stiles has the magic spark, but they are waiting for him to come to them for training. They remember the price that Claudia had carried for her magic, and are worried that the boy may carry the same fate. This is the only reason they haven't told him yet. But it's a strong magic that surrounds him, and the only thing protecting him is the old wards his mother had put on him to hide the strength of his magic from other magic users so that they wouldn't know just how powerful he could become. After all, no one wants to take the time to teach a weak magic user with a habit of being talkative, obnoxious at times, and way too curious for his own good, right?
As of the current year, Stiles is caring for his ailing grandmother during the evening, and spends the day bouncing in and out of different places, trying to talk to the people in the city who are masters of their trades and to learn as much as he can from them before going to the next topic. He's been sticking to basic things like the guards, farming - things that would better improve his town. But he's also talked with some of the alchemists and apothecary owners to learn their talents if they are willing to teach him.
