spamalot } Can't Control your Dreams

Of course she knew he was still at Google. Scott, his dad... anyone would have told her that years after they broke up Stiles was still a Googler and that the googliness ran strong in him. He's sitting in his office across from Lyle, headphones on and working away on an app when there was a hand waving in front of his face.

Blinking, Stiles sat back and looked up at Billy who is wearing the smuggest grin on his face. Something was up, and he dropped his headphones to his neck. "What's up?"

"You got a guest. And man, she is hot. You're going to introduce me to her, right?"

Confused, he turned in his seat. "What do you mean I have a..."

That was when he saw her standing and chatting with Nehaa in a tight red dress and heels that made her legs go on for miles. She was laughing at something the other woman said, and then turned to look at him. He stood up quickly, making for the door...

... only to get choking on his headphones and fall backwards onto the floor with a hard thump. The girls saw and laughed, as did anyone else who heard the sound and looked over in their see-through office space to find Stiles scrambling back up off the floor and tossing his headphones onto the desk. "Smooth, Stiles," Billy laughed and went to pat the younger man on the back. "Go get her."

He made his way down the hall, dusting himself off as he walked and took off his glasses to hang them off his pocket. Nehaa slid away back to her office as Stiles drew close, and Cora turned to face him.

"Hi."

"Hi."

"What are you doing here?" Smooth, Stiles. He winced a bit, and watched as Cora bit her lip and looked down, trying not to blush.

"I was in town visiting Mom, and thought it would be nice to see you. Scott said you'd be here."

"Well, yeah. I kinda got married to the company. But it's cool. I'm surrounded by nerds. My people. Totally have Star Wars parties every week."

She laughed at that. "Sounds like nerd heaven."

"Pretty much." He felt a hand on his shoulder and Lyle was there. "Oh, hey boss."

"Just reminding you that your overtime isn't approved for this week, and you're hitting your forty in five minutes. Time to log out."

Stiles blinked, and as Lyle moved past he walked backwards and gave Stiles two thumbs up. He shook his head, and then rubbed at the back of his neck. "Looks like I'm getting kicked out for the rest of the day. Since you came all the way up here..."

"I don't have any plans." Cora's face shined in that moment, like a ball of sunshine coming out from the clouds. "I mean, unless you do..."

"No, I'm free."

That was how they ended up walking along the grounds for awhile before hopping on a Google Bus headed down to San Francisco where his apartment was. They talked about their lives, and how Cora was finishing grad school and debating on where to teach. Stiles talked about his antics with Google and his friends in the area. Eventually they grabbed some dinner at a food truck and found a picnic table that overlooked the Golden Gate Bridge.

"So you still with Tyler?" He had to ask when there was a lull in the conversation. He didn't see a ring on her finger, but the last time he had seen her at Scott's wedding she wasn't alone.

"No, it didn't work out. He just wasn't right for me." Cora looked at the bridge as the sun set and the lights started to turn on. "What about you and... what was her name?"

"Suzanna. Yeah, she um... when she lost the baby she pretty much left me."

"I'm sorry, Stiles."

He shrugged. "Hey, you know, maybe it was for the best. After all, she really was just a rebound relationship. I wasn't ready to get married then."

"And now?"

Stiles looked down at his container and stabbed the food with his fork a bit. "Just haven't found the right girl, I guess."

He watched as she got up and walked around the picnic table, straddling the bench and making him turn to face him. "What if you already had, and she finally realized just how wrong she was, and how much she missed you?"

His mouth went dry at that, and he couldn't find the words to speak. It was words he had been waiting to hear since he was twenty one and had been in his senior year at college. He didn't know what to say - didn't want to ruin the moment - and just watched as Cora leaned down and kissed him as her arms snaked around his neck. He didn't hesitate and kissed her back, deepening the kiss until their bodies were pressed up close as the sky darkened around them.

"Stay," he finally asked as they separated for air. "Please."

"Yes."

It was the cold that finally sent them on their way back to his apartment. They walked with fingers entwined, and once the door was shut behind them those fingers were ripping at clothes that became a trail leading to his bedroom. His body remembered every inch of hers, and soon they were locked together in the most intimate of ways as he pressed inside of her and felt the world explode inside of him as they joined each other in orgasm.

And then it was the sharp pain of fangs in his neck, him tilting his head to the side as his body continued to roll in the waves of pleasure. When he finally came down, he rolled them to their sides and then reached for his neck. "Your uncle is going to kill me," he joked.

"I don't care. You're mine, and I'm never letting you go again."

The beeping of his alarm woke Stiles from his dream. He looked to see that he was in his bed in Palo Alto, and as he shifted he saw Suzanna sitting on the edge of the bed, glaring at her. "What's wrong?"

"You called out for her in your sleep." Her arms were crossed.

He looked at the sheet and sighed. "I can't help what I do in my sleep, Suzanna. You know that."

"Well, I'm not going to listen to my husband calling out another woman's name like he's fucking her in his sleep. You can stay on the couch from now on." With that, she got up and left the bedroom, slamming the door shut, which started the baby in the other room crying. He groaned and leaned back into the pillows again, staring at the ceiling and sighing.

It was just a dream. That's all it would ever be, and he just had to face it one day.
