I can see how that might be a bad thing.

[he offers up the two drinks he's holding. one, a bottle of beer, the other, a can of coke. they may not be twenty-one yet, but that doesn't seem to be an issue here.]

You still seem really hung up on it, so I found a copy of Trek Wars. [a shrug.] We've got time, so...

[really, Scott? Really? No, he's taking the beer, thanks.]

Star Wars. And you found a copy here?

That's what I said.

[wasn't it? a briefly confused look, and scott makes his way over to the sofa, somehow managing not to spill a drop of his drink despite practically jumping into his seat.]

There's a store nearby that has both of them. I just got the first one though. [a pause and--] They asked a bunch of weird questions before I could rent it though. They wanted to know if I've ever forced something? Something about magic powers? Apparently I wasn't allowed it if I could move things with my mind.

They were trying to find out if you were a true Jedi. You'll understand once you watch.

[Stiles snorts and goes over to join him, and then he sees the dvd]

Dude, you got the 4th one.

[sorry, buddy. but you may as well be speaking french right now. jedi??]

What? [there's a momentary panic as he dives for the case, his confusion growing stronger the moment he gets another look at it again.]

What're you talking about? It says episode 1 right there.

Yeah, but it's a prequel. It came out after the original trilogy. Plus this one, while it has important information to the downfall of the Republic, it kinda sucks.

[leads]

[nope. that's not making any kind of sense to him.]

Why would they make episode 1 last? [and no, hold up!] I thought you liked Star Wars?

No, it's not last. It's like fourth. There's two after this.

And I do love Star Wars. That's the first three movies. These movies after that are okay, but they aren't my favorites of the series.

[leads]

[yep, he's lost. and he dumps the case back on the table with a growl of frustration. this isn't how he'd planned the evening to go.]

Should we watch something else then?

[because it's a little difficult to lull stiles in to a false sense of security chill out if they're stuck watching a film he doesn't like.]

No, we can still watch it!

[Scott is making an effort to watch Star Wars. He will watch even the Phantom Menace for that.]

Just know that like, all of them are better than this.

...if you're sure.

[if he's honest, he really doesn't mind what they end up watching. just as long as it's something that stiles will enjoy. something to help ease the way before he attempts to broach the subject of why he really planned all this out.]

You want to get it set up while I grab the rest?

[more food, that is. because there's no way those pizzas will be enough.]

Sure thing.

[mmmm, pizza. He will work on setting it up, including getting the subtitles on so Scott can understand the dialogue, and turning up the sound because the bass is always turned up so you can feel the vibrations of the ships.

He might forget that Scott has werewolf ears. Whoooops! There's time to remind him later when the movie hits a battle scene]
